APFC QUOTES SOFTWARE
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ON A NETWORK
Attention Netware Users
If you have a NETWARE Installation, the Netware installation must
support long filenames. Additionally, you must change the
install Directory Name by removing any spaces in the name. |
The APFC QUOTES application requires that the Program and
Data be installed on the SERVER Drive and that the Program then be installed on
each other computer on the Network that will be using the program.
The installation for the SERVER is different than for a
WORK STATION.
INSTALL ON SERVER
1. Run the program APFCQuote.exe (the Downloaded File) at the SERVER
machine. The installation program will begin. When prompted install the
Program and the Data Files to the shared network drive
letter for the SERVER (this is probably the C Drive on the Server.
If not label C, the shared drive may be labeled D, E or F. Check with your
Network Administrator to be sure).
Make sure both boxes are Checked and that the paths
(location on the computer) are the same.
For example:
if the install path is set to D:\Program Files\APFC Quotes (where drive
D is the network drive). The installation program will install the
Program and data to D:\Program Files\APFC Quotes.
The program will install on the Server computer and the
data will reside on the Server for all other users to work with.
An Icon
 named APFC Quotes will be
placed on the Desktop of the Server.

THE NETWORK
2. On each WORK STATION on
the Network, run the program APFCQuote.exe (the Downloaded File).
The installation program will begin.
When prompted set the Destination Folders of the Program
and Data Files to the Server:
Change the settings for the Application Setup and the
Data Setup.
Install the Application and the Data Files to the shared network drive
letter for the SERVER which you previously installed.
For example:
if the Application and Data path to the server is: D:\Program Files\APFC Quotes (where drive
D is the network drive). You should change the Application path and the Data path to:
D:\Program Files\APFC Quotes. -- This may require that you use the Browse
button to navigate to your My Network Places, then to your Server's Name, then
to the C Drive on the Network Server, then to Program Files, then to APFC
Quotes.
Once you have the correct path for the Program Files and
the correct path for the Data Files, click on NEXT.
The program will install on that Workstation and the data
will reside on the Server for all other users to work with. If any data
already exists on the Server, it will not be overwritten.
An Icon
named APFC Quotes will be
placed on the Desktop of that Workstation.
3. Now repeat this procedure for any other
Workstations on the Network.
Once installed on a Workstation, the program can be
operated from the Server Computer or any Workstation. All functions can be
performed so long as a printer is available to that computer and an internet
connection is available to transmit the data. The printer and internet
connect may be a shared by all computers on the Network.
